Time to Retire our Servant
" The power under the Constitution will always be in the people. It is entrusted for certain defined purposes, and for a certain limited period, to representatives of their own choosing; and whenever it is executed contrary to their interest, or not agreeable to their wishes, their servants can, and undoubtedly will, be recalled."
- George Washington
George Washington's words ring true today. The seemingly well-intentioned decisions Senator Mikulski made throughout her Senatorial career has resulted in high unemployment and an ever increasing federal deficit. She continues to support bills increasing taxes and going against the wishes of Maryland voters.
Senator Mikulski will not even hold to the laws passed by Congress. Recently Congress reinstated the PAYGO budgeting rules requiring any expense Congress approves to be offset by equal or greater gains in surplus elsewhere. Less than a month later, Mikulski voted with her colleagues to pass a $10 billion package of long-term job benefit extensions and highway projects in 17 states without following the PAYGO rules.
It is time to retire our servant Senator Mikulski because she is not representing our interests or wishes. It is time to install a new member to the seat. A fiscal conservative who understands what it will require to bring down the deficit, reduce the tax burden on the populace, and resurrect American exceptionalism.
