Time for a Change in DC
There was a time when the American people felt like they could trust their elected officials to do the right thing for "We the People." Our quest was a country which promised freedom for the individual to succeed (or not succeed) to the best of his/her ability. Our quest is still the same. Unfortunately over the years we have allowed our Senators and Representatives to stray from this philosophy. We have allowed them to take our money in the form of taxes and redistribute it to others more often to gain influence in one community or another.
The redistribution continues. In just over 12 months time, Ms. Mikulski has voted for four pieces of legislation that have or will become law and cost taxpayers $2.6 trillion:
- Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act = $871 billion
- American Recovery and Reinvestment Act = $787 billion
- Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, (includes Troubled Asset Relief Program, or T.A.R.P. ) = $700 billion
- Legislation to raise the federal debt ceiling by $290 billion
"The math is simple but the numbers are simply astounding," Jim Rutledge said. "Marylanders can no longer afford big government Democratic politicians like Ms. Mikulski. She's bankrupting America with her outrageous spending and in doing so putting every single citizen of this country at great personal risk."
Today, the Senate and House leadership confer behind closed doors to reconcile the health care legislation. They are not following the traditional reconciliation process and are keeping the American people out of the room. Their campaign promises of transparency have floated away in the wind. And through all of this, what is the constitutionality of their actions?
It is time to make a change in DC. Changing out the elected official is easy. Stand-up, fight for, and vote for the person you know holds your values and will abide by the Constitution. Then stand by him/her when it is time for the difficult change - cutting spending, cutting programs, and cutting out government regulation. It is time to cut out 'inside the beltway thinking' and to restore and expect individual responsibility.

A Message from Jim
The fight to restore America is on! With the holiday season behind us and our energies renewed, it is time to turn our attention back to restoring the United States Constitution. Thank you for joining me in this fight. Together we will raise Marylanders' awareness of Congress' power grab, outrageous spending, and path paving to socialism. Take action now to put candidates in office who believe in the Constitution and will govern for "We the People." We can and will restore the Republic!
A Little Goes A Long Way
Did you know a $10 contribution puts 40 bumper stickers into the hands of supporters? The main stream media blockade of good conservative ideas must be fought. Rutledge for US Senate on the back of a car is a very valuable counter strike. A candidate's name must be seen 13 times before someone will vote for him/her. The bumper sticker goes a long way towards making this happen. Please contribute to the campaign by clicking on the following link: Make a Contribution
